Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, producing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also faced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the state.
